Cake Disasters

Anyone else have weeks like this?

Having a nightmare of a week regarding cakes this week. Catalogue of disasters; microwave broke, fixed yay, oven broke .. rushed around to my mum’s to bake two tier cake (she doesn’t even own anything as fangled as a spatula), tried to make cake lace old school way as no oven … son plonks his laptop on top of it, torting and splitting cakes and they crumble into bits, put together in some kind if cake shape and assemble with ganache, forget agbay has not got shield on it and nearly cut fingers off, cake tin falls out of cupboard and smacks me on mouth so now sporting a cut lip, bag of sugar splits and covers work top ….. Need I go on. Still nowhere close to finishing and feel
like putting all my cake stuff on eBay.
Just stopped to post this before I hurtle into next disaster. To top it all, keep getting texts from the recipient who wants progress shots …. Ooooh err!

well… yes we all do have wild times, although this sounds pretty testing, I must say!! It’s what makes us stronger (they say haha!). It can only get better! :) :) Good luck with the rest of the process x

Oh my! You have had quite a week. I’ve had my share of bad weeks but have to admit that yours really tops that.

Oh my! Ignor recipient, because you are too busy spending time on their cake!

Thanks for your encouragement. Am just procrastinating now, even cleaning the bathroom to avoid having to confront the next hurdle. Will be glad to see this one go but, despite this, will still be dying to get on with the next one.

I can promise no matter how bad it may seem today you’ll laugh at it when it’s all over.
And you’ll definitely learn loads from this!!. A really clever person once told me if you don’t have difficulties on your “lifes journey” it’s a wasted trip. The road of life has to have a textured surface………rough and smooth. A flat road may be more comfortable…. but when you reach your “destination” you won’t have anything to look back and remember if there was nothing to drive around in the first place. Chin up, shoulders back and keep your eyes on the road xxx
