Here is my Humpty Dumpty story.
May 4th, 4 dozen cupcakes baked and iced in fridge waiting for decorartioions next day for Raaainbow community Cincnco de Mayo lununcheon. Sommehow the next morning I thought I was dreaming I was falling, in reeality I actually was. I had rolled off my bed and I guess I hit the metal frame on the way daown. I was in so much pain I couldn’t move my boody to get to the phone. I lay there for 24 hours before I forced myself up and called 911.
Brooken collar bone in two places, 5 fractured ribs. 25 days in the hospital. The only positive thing to come out of this is I have stopped smoking. Hopefully permanently this time because I have COPD and smoking is killing me. So for now I am on oxygen and a Nebulizer treatment every 4 hours. But I passed physical therapy in a breeze, am walking without any support. I will have a home care nurse for a while with help bathing. But I have had the most amazing medical advocates through my daughter Melissa, son Josh and so many great friends from the Rainbow community cennter. Believe me, having a Daughter who is an RN really works wonders. She knows what questions to ask and gets answers.
Thank each and every one of you for your caring posts and concern. Your visits to the hopspita and phone calls. I am a bit battered and bruised but I’m still here! Not that I would suggest it, but I lost 15 lbs while in the hospital.
