Hi everyone! It’s been about 6 weeks or so since I posted on this site – and trust me I’ve missed it! Unfortunately my son was rushed to hospital with severe seizures (he had about 70 in two weeks) and my husband and I were beside ourselves. Thankfully the seizures were brought under control, but sadly my son has been diagnosed with lymphatic cancer. Worst time of our lives right now, but he has a 90% chance of recovery and so we are all focusing on the positive.

I’ve been carrying on my cake business throughout this whole ordeal, decorating cakes after 10pm when we would get home from the hospital, so that the orders for the next day would be ready on time. People would ask me how can I still decorate cakes when our lives have been turned upside down, but I’m sure all you lovely cakey peeps out there will understand me when I say that it can be very therapeutic. I would literally “drown” myself in my icing and this has helped me get by these past few weeks.

My son had his first chemo session this past Friday and he has really battled this weekend with the side effects but that’s one down, 15 more to go – he will be finished by Christmas time with his chemo so we can all look forward to a brand new, healthy 2017!

So….that brings me to say, that I am looking forward to posting some of my latest cakes up on this amazing website.

Have a super week everyone and happy cake decorating!

Thank you so much Sandra and Elli! He will get better, it’s just going to be a long 8 months. But, hopefully, he will be well enough in between his chemo to help me in my kitchen – he’s so good with fondant figurines! Have a lovely week! xx

Sorry to hear about your son. Hopefully he will have few side effects of the chemo and will soon be pronounced cancer free. Cancer diagnosis is tough on the whole family so make sure that you take care of yourself.

So sorry to hear about your son! Hope he is recovering good after his chemo xxx all the luck for the coming months!

So sorry Lyndsay
Such a shock I am sure. Cancer is a scary word, but definitely can be conqured and cured…my husband is living proof of that!! Hugs and prayers your way for the months ahead. They will be difficult months, but look forward to a good report and health at the end at Christmas time. ❤

Bless you all, how difficult this must be for you! I don’t share much about me that is private but I want to let you know that I have been living with a form of lymphoma since 2002 next month is my 14th anniversary ! It’s not always an unbumpy road but here I still am 👍🏻 I hope this brings you hope and strength with all my heart ❤️ Chris X

Thank you all so much for your kind messages, and thank you Christopher for yours too. Yes, this does give us hope and since his diagnosis, we’ve heard of quite a few people who have beaten this dreadful disease. Take care all and have a wonderful week ahead xx
