My very first home made birthday cake.....

Just had to share this as I am so excited!
It’s my birthday next Wednesday but my daughters and granddaughters are coming round to celebrate tomorrow. I have just had my daughter and granddaughters (3 and 6) FaceTime me to show what they have made me and will be bringing tomorrow.
Neither of my daughters are into baking so it is especially lovely that Emma and the girls have baked me a banana cake covered in lemon drizzle enthusiastically decorated by my granddaughters.
I have never in my life (all 58 years of it – eek) had anyone make me a birthday cake – even as a child it would be shop bought – so this is just the best cake ever!!!!!
I also have to share the funniest telephone conversation with my daughter a couple of days ago which puts this event in real context:

Emm: “Mum what is soft butter?”
Me: “Erm…….well it’s butter that isn’t hard…”
Emma: “Oh very funny, no seriously where do I find it?”

She actually thought it was a special sort of butter she had to buy!
