The State Fair of Texas-Texas Pride-Sweet Style

This year we decided to share our love of The State Fair of Texas. We each picked an iconic item from the fair and recreated it in sugar. We gained permission from the fair which is the largest fair in America and the most attended. We were thrilled. The video of our collaboration will play for 24 days in the Creative Arts Building and they asked us to help with next year! Big Tex the mascot for the fair even shared our collaboration.

We will also be taking our creations to Cook’s Children’s Hospital for a private event to let the children who can’t leave the hospital feel like they got to be a part of it. We will have samples from Satin Ice who generously sponsored for each child to get some fondant to play with. We will have fun demo’s for the kids to tease their nurses into thinking they spilled their milk.
