Introduce Yourself

Hi, my name is Karen and I am from Tennessee.I am a self thought baker. Baking runs in my family. When I was very young my mother was a professional cake decorator. I would watch her for hours and pretend I was a baker. I have always admired the art of cake decorating. Unfortunately, my mother went blind and was no longer able to do the one thing she loved. As I got older I chose to inter the field of finance. This past December (2014) I received a kitchen aid for Christmas. I started baking and it sparked that love that I once had as a little girl. I started creating cakes this past February. I am so excited to start this new chapter in my life . What was once my mothers dream has now become my passion.

Hi Karen, welcome to cakes decor. Thank you for sharing your story and sorry to hear about your mum’s blindness. My mother did too, with macular degeneration. I used to look after her.
I really look forwards to seeing your cakes and how wonderful you have rekindled your passion. :)
