Facebook site taking our pictures!
There is a fb site up that has hundreds of out members cakes on their page. Some with watermarks some without. I just want everyone to be aware and anyone wanting to report them can. For anyone wanting to share our cakes we love that, even encourage it but please make sure you do it in the right manner. Share the picture from that persons fb page which will then give a link to the decorator so as the rightful decorator will get the credit. Hopefully that will also help out their pages at the same time. But sharing other cake artists works with no link is just no the right way to do it people. No one should be using our images for their benefit, even if it is just a fb page. We all work to dang hard to at least not get a shout out when you use one of our cakes! I’m not on Facebook but I was still able to take a quick look. None of my cakes are there but sure are lots of yours! This same thing happened to me on Pinterest. I’m just a hobby baker, not a business so I wasn’t water marking any of my creations. Next thing I know people were pinning my things as their own. I’m never going to be well known but it’s still annoying to have my creations poached. I hope you are able to shut them down. You all deserve credit for your amazing creations.

I only found one of mine without a watermark but still, nobody should be sharing pictures this way. I am honored they like my work I think that is wonderful but this is no the right way if you truly love someone else’s work.

Hi Sharon, just checked, saw mine there too. You are right its all CD members work. Myself and other members on there don’t have a watermark so she really should put links to the photos, I think the link she uses says check it out and then just goes to another of her pages. Tried to see if she is a member here but couldn’t find her? x

Thank you, Sharon! I recognised so many cakes and tagged the original artists! I just can’t understand these people who are stealing images and cropping names! What satisfaction they are getting from this???

Thanks for telling us. One of mine is on there, so I’m going to like it and add a comment thanking them for adding one of my cakes but please if you use any more provide a link back to me so I get the rightful credit. Otherwise I will need to report it.

I just checked it out and saw some of mine andould recognise a lot of CD members’ cakes!! I really believe we should all report!
