Mirror effect

I would like to make a little framed mirror to go on a cake, has anyone got advice on how to get a reflective mirror effect please? Thank you.

Hi! I made some mirrors last month. I tried using silver leaf, it was ok but couldn’t get it completely smooth, you would probably be better at that than me! it would have looked great otherwise. I had some very shiny silver petal dust, i mixed with a little vodka and it was extremely shiny, i painted a couple of coats and then sprayed with gloss, was very effective. I hope this helps! will be interested to see other options from other ladies! :-)

You could use silver petal dust mixed with silver airbrush color. I find this gets even shinier than just mixing the silver dust with vodka. I would probably try putting some edible varnish on it after it dries to see if it would make it really shine like a mirror. I usually use equal parts corn syrup & vodka when I make my homemade version.

Thanks Goreti, also a great excuse to buy some vodka in.
