It is a stunning cake design Sarah. May I ask a question? Why did you use white fondant airbrushed black rather than black fondant? I don’t mean that to sound critical but am interested in your reason.

Cakeicer thank you for your question. I use white fondant as I find it much easier to work with than pre coloured black and a lot less messy. Also airbrushing I find gives a deeper black tone than pre coloured. It’s just personal choice. I make about 90% of my cakes in white then airbrush and hand paint them.

Thanks for the answer Sarah. I have airbrushed black as well but it was over a black fondant cake. I can see that airbrushing over white would be less messy and time consuming than trying to color the fondant itself.
