Hi everyone. I am self-taught in fondant and have a very basic question. How do I make cleaner corners on a rectangular or square shaped cake? My corners always looked like a wrapped present where I wind up overlapping th corners (see attached picture of bowling cake I made). Thanks for any help!
For me I put my fondant on a square cake the same way I do a circle… slowly smooth down the sides and lifting the bottom up slightly as I smooth the sides. Just keep smoothing the corners down, don’t fold anything over.
Sweetiwise has a great you tube tutorial on this technique.
Thanks so much Jennifer!
I just came across a free class on craftsy that you may want to check out. I haven’t taken a look at it yet but here is the link if you are interested: http://www.craftsy.com/class/basic-fondant-techniques/271
This is great..thank you SO much. Perfect timing as I am working on another cake now. :)
