Hey Y'all!

Can I just start off by saying how much I love this site and wish I had found it so much sooner!

A little about me… as it states in my profile description, I fell in love with decorating after creating my daughters first birthday smash cake back in 2010. It was just a simple buttercream cake but I made a big fondant bow on top just to give it that little something extra. Then, after doing an all fondant 2 tier cake when she turned two, I knew I couldn’t wait for her next birthday to do another. So, I posted on Facebook and Craigslist looking for anyone that wanted a cake and that’s where my adventure began. I continued doing cakes as a hobby since I had a full time job and after a few years I decided I just didn’t have the time anymore. This year marked 4 years since I decided to take a break. Last month, in the middle of a pandemic, I quit my well paying full time job. I was stressed, exhausted and just not happy with work anymore (at a job I used to love). I desperately wanted to have some kind of passion back for what I do so I decided to start making my cakes again! I realized in a matter of weeks how much I needed to do this and that I had made the right decision no matter how scary it was at the time. Where there’s a will there’s a way!!
I’m sure I will go back to another job at some point, just to keep up with things, but my dream is to one day have a little cake shop.

I am excited to be a part of this community with so many amazing decorators! I hope to learn from y’all and share in our journey’s.
