Would 10in and 9in hearts look good? Please help

I’m trying to make a 2 teir heart cake for my sister in laws birthday. But all I could get ahold of is a 10in pan and a 9 in pan. Will that look fine or should I search for a 6 in one?

Why can’t you just trim up the 9" pan?
Personally, I would trace the pans on paper, cut them out and see if I liked them. I’m thinking you want to go at least 2-3 inches smaller then the larger pan. HTH

I would cut the larger 9" cake to a smaller size as suggested by Donna. Not sure where you are located but you can buy 6" heart pans – 8" heart pans. If that’s not an option trim them down.

My thinking is exactly like Donna’s and MsGF’s….trim it, especially if it is not something you will use again.

Yes, definitely trim the 9" cake. Then save the cake for cake spackle, or crumb coating…

I’m worried about trimming it and the sides not coming out rounded enough or even.what would I use to trim? And everyone’s out I guess I’ve checked Michaels and hobby lobby the smallest they have is 8"

You could make you a heart shaped template out of paper and cut two the same size out of cardboard….like an empty cereal box. Put one under the cake and one on top, lined up with the one on the bottom and use them as a cutting guide.
