Hello - Newbie here :)

Hi everyone! My name is Denise and I’m from Cochrane, Alberta Canada. I have been following and using this site for tips / tricks since I started cake decorating around Halloween. Love all the posts and amazing cake artists on here! I am a novice to decorating, but I love drawing and painting so I wanted to try my artistic talents with cakes.

I’ve included 3 pictures of my most recent cakes. I’ve been testing out recipes and basically learning how to make and work with, well, everything! Wow, huge learning curve but I am having a blast doing it.

Batman cake: marble cake with buttercream icing and raspberry filling, covered with black fondant, hand painted Batman with white edible paint (there is a city scene around the cake not shown in pic)
Soccer ball cake: Vanilla cake and buttercream icing, fondant covered, gumpaste logo
Rainbow unicorn cake: biggest challenge yet (literally too large lol) . ‘Extreme chocolate’ cake and icing body covered with fondant, rice krispie treats head with modelling chocolate for face and hair, and gumpaste unicorn horn, ears and lettering.
