Hi, I was just asked to make a two-tier graduation cake and the clients wants a key lime cake on the bottom tier.
I’ve looked up some recipes on the internet and the reviews are very mixed. If anyone has a recipe for a good key lime cake, I would appreciate your sharing it with me. The cake is due on May 4th.
I’m also a bit concerned that this type of cake may be too soft for a bottom tier – does anyone know if this is the case?
Many thanks!

I just buy the key lime juice on the margarita aisle and sub the liquid in my recipe. There are also key lime lorann oils that work great too. I made it for a wedding cake and the bride loved it.
Great idea about looking for the key lime juice in the margarita aisle – I was wondering where I would find it because key limes are not always available at the grocery store – even though we live in Florida – LOL!
I have a recipe I found on line and I will make a trial run using your suggestion. Many thanks – I appreciate it.

Yep! Before I found the key lime juice I was squeezing them all by hand. Yikes! It’s now a go to cake flavor. You can also add key lime jello but it will make it green.
