Titanic cake :)

Hey guys!
I have to make a cake for 21.01.2015 with ’’Titanic & iceberg". This is what the mother said :)
Sooo I looked through some pictures and she liked this one:

My question is: Do you think the ship is made out of fondant or with rice crispies or whatever it is and than covered in fondant? I’ve never made so big figures and I just wondered :)

Hi, My guess looking at the picture it’s just fondant. What you can use are small leftover cake which you put on there before cream coating your cake. That’s what I use for small pieces and it works just fine, hope this helps ;-)

I think I will use this technique for the icebergs :) I will make the ship out of fondant .

Hey all!
This is what turned out to be the Titanic cake :)

I don’t like the ship but I am happy with the ‘’water effect’’ with colored jelly. :)
