They want it out of cake.

That’s not a easy one…because of the blade, it’s very thin…

Could you have the sword standing up on the handle? Not sure how to carve the handle but maybe that should be the cake part and have the blade just be made out of gumpaste so you can get the thin blade.

Boy, that is a tall order! You can certainly make is edible, but I’m not so sure about making it solely from cake. It would have to be a BIG cake for there to be any servings at all. I would try to talk the client into having an edible sword on a cake “tabletop” maybe with some gold coins, or whatever happens to go along with said sword. Best of luck though, maybe someone else will stop by with a better option!

ouch that’s going to be tricky….you could construct a case for it and let it be inside… (as fondant) and the case be the cake ? – that way you still have a pretty large cake under and maybe just do a bit of a carved sword ontop?

Thanks for all the advice! I think I’m going to do a fondant sword laying on top of a white cake. I’ll just have to explain to them I can’t do what there asking me to do but I can do it this way instead. It’s for my brother in law so he will understand lol :)
