The Silk Road Merchant - Gold medal at Birmingham CI 2015

“The Silk Road Merchant” is my competition piece at the K cathegorie at the Birmingham Cake International. Made in modelling chocolate, fondant, wafer paper and isomalt and hand painted. It´s a gold in Birmingham!
The piece was was 50 × 40 cm and 75 cm high. I had difficulties with the courrier because they sent me back the piece and I had to put it in anothe box. When I arrived there the box haven´t arrived yet and when it had the piece had some damage, so I slept two hours that night haha.
It was a beautiful experience I shared with my special friends Isabel Tamargo, Mayte Rodríguez and Daniel Diéguez. I also met fantastic people, national and international ones.
It was an incredible experience and I had so much fun!!!!!!!!

Arantxa, it was so exciting watching you unpack him and place him on the table… Such a remarkable talented artist… And so warm and friendly… It was so lovely to meet you outside, when it was cold, we were all tired and nervous as the door hadn’t opened yet…
