Bumblebee

Bumblebee
Bumblebee Bumblebee

This was my son`s birthday cake (always a good time to try something new!).
I used a structure kit from `Fabricaking It` (huge thank you Sarah) and somehow made Bumblebee. He was originally going to have bent legs and be in an action pose….but he didn`t look right, so I changed him to a standing pose. But of course by then I`d made his body, so his legs ended up a bit short which made him look a bit chunky! Do cakes ever go according to plan??
I`ve added a picture with my birthday boy so you can see the size of the cake (21" high) and since my son likes baking too, Bumblebee was holding a cupcake candle!
And then we ate him!! xx

Brilliant work Julie! I’m telling everyone I can about theit kits…I’ve yet to use them but they look great!

The kit was fantastic Mellie…totally solid and secure, the cake wasn`t going anywhere! I could adjust the height, move the arms, shape the polyboard and because it was raised underneath, it was really easy to lift. I`ll definitely be using it again. And Sarah was fantastic. She somehow managed to translate my very basic sketch and advised me on the structure I needed. Can you tell I was pleased with it! :)
