Ordered for a lady who loves exotic sea shells, this 6" vanilla cake was brushed with a forget-me-not blue lustre and decorated with plain white sea shells, coral and pearls. I wanted the topper to have some drama to it so the large (slightly stylised) lambis crocata (spider conch) shell was sculpted by hand using modelling chocolate and covered with flower paste to give a fine finish to the surface. The markings and lustre were hand painted. This cake was enitrely edible.
