Good Evening/Morning dear friends!

Here’s my latest creation for a beautiful lady’s Bridal Shower, she’s getting married in August (I think). The cake was requested by her equally beautiful Mom.

Four things on this cake:

1. Figure made of modelling chocolate (except for the dress and shoes). One thing about using modelling chocolate to make a figure — YOU CANNOT keep on rolling and re-rolling the medium between your palm or fingers, it will make the modelling chocolate too soft to handle. This is the downside to using modelling chocolate I find — especially if you have warm hands and the weather too hot (it’s summer here in Canada). It’s a little frustrating — however, FOR ME, modelling chocolate is really the best medium for figure modelling. You have lots of time to manipulate your figure. It took me more time though, I kept on putting it in the freezer to cool the modelling chocolate when it gets too soft — but I still love it.

2. Edible Sequins by Kara’s Couture Cakes, awesome! Thanks Kara! I used 4 packs of the Knox Gelatine to make the edible sequins on the cake…Check out Kara’s page or her Youtube channel to learn how to make the edible sequins.

3. Marvelous Molds — It’s a little tricky but once you get the technique, it’s awesome! Having a pasta machine to roll the fondant to a certain thickness helped a lot. I rolled the fondant to the number 4 setting on the past machine.

4. Love the ready to use Isomalt that I won from CakeFu Giveaway from Simi Cakes and Confections. I used it for the ring and the earrings. First time I used Isomalt and I love it!
