Can I fix a cracked figure?
So I made my Doc McStuffin figure with 50/50 satin ice chocolate and white fondx. I stopped using satin ice for figures because as it dries it ALWAYS cracks. I thought maybe if i mixed the chocolate SI with Fondx I would be ok, but nope.
I wanted to use the chocolate SI so i didn’t have to do a lot of dying of the fondant to get the color I wanted and I had some chocolate left over.
Does anyone have suggestions on what I can use to fix the big old crack down her face?

Oh that is too bad. You did such a good job on it. This has never happened to me so not sure how to fix but I did find something online. They said they made added a little water to 50/50 gumpaste/fondant mix until it became gooey and patched it that way. I wonder if you steamed the area to soften it and then try to smooth it out. That is all I can think of. Good luck. Perhaps someone with more experience has another idea.
I think that maybe you could rub a little shortening in to the crack
to try and ‘seam’ it back together. Hope this helps xx

Thanks Goreti and Cakealicious77 the only concern I have with steaming or shortening is that that are will be shinnier compared to the rest of the face. I guess I can try and if it doesn’t work I can make the head again for the third time :)
They do say 3 times a charm and this time I will dye my fondx and keep SI out!!!
I am suggesting to make it again:( It will probably take more time trying to steam, fill in the crack or shortening to smooth. In addition, I have made attempts in the past to correct cracks on figures. Usually endup incurring more problems. Steam colors running into each other, shortening makes the area appear smudged(looks not quite right) So im my opinion your easiest quickest solution would be to redo it. You have some amazing talent:)

Thank you also for the complement but I did cheat a little on this figure. I made a mold of the head from a doll. I knew how important it was to get her as close to looking exact as possible.
