Fondant HELP!

I am making a Macy’s shopping bag cake and can not get the fondant tissue paper to look right. It just looks like mounded fondant. Anyone have any ideas?

I would suggest adding tylose to your fondant or making a 50/50 gumpaste fondant mixture. This will help it hold your shapes better than just straight fondant.

Make sure that your fondant paper tissie is thin – if you make it too thick, it won’t look right. Hope this helps.

Yes I agree with funfetti. The fondant must be super thin. Only 1ml thick. The only way to get it this thin and still have strength is with tylose or use gumpaste… Good Luck.

Thanks for your advice. When you use 50/50 mixture, anything special you need to do?

Here is a link to one that I did. I used a 50/50 mixture and let mine dry before placing on the cake.
