Does anyone use the cricut cake for the cakes or cookies they make?

I have and find it to be a waste of time. I think I’ve used it twice and had it since it came out. I think it’s almost 2 years now. It’s not as user friendly….but then again I haven’t made the time to figure out all the kinks.

I bought one a few months ago, and I was really excited to own one. I have not used it for any of my cakes or cookies yet. Maybe someday I will. I find small cookie cutters for fondant decorating on cakes to be really easy.
For those who don’t have one yet, the large cricut cake is currently on sale at cricut’s website for $49.99:
I bought one when they first came out and have used it consistently since. I love it! It took me a good two weeks to get the hang of it and many frustrating attempts but I am so glad I hung in there. I think it is well worth it especially if you can now get it so much cheaper than what I paid for it when it came out.
i use mine. i’ve only had it a couple of months but i’ve used it on a few cakes. it is very finicky, though. i do like the results. i used it for both my butterfly, and baby shower cake and a birthday cake (but i don’t think that’s on here yet). now, my mother in law has a cricut expressions and the cartridges are interchangeable and my bundle came with 4 cartridges, so i have not had to buy any extras. if you don’t catch them on sale, they are very expensive. hope this helps!

I use mine for lettering and some intricate cutouts – it did take some playing around with settings, fondants, and all that good stuff – but I really enjoy using mine!! I did almost give it up at first – especially when trying to use those horrible frosting sheets that came with it (which to me ARE a waste of time) but finally found a good method for my fondant and for the most part, that works out quite well. Glad I stuck with it!

hey becky,
just curious about your method. i roll then freeze it on the mat and then cut and then freeze it for a few minutes but taking it off the mat. if you are willing to share, how do you do yours? i also use a gum paste and fondant mixture. Thanks!
