Decorative hole in tier cake

I am looking for a a tutorial how to support a cake with a hole in one of the tiers. Do you know how to cut the hole out and support the cake?

I think that in many cases “the cake” with the hole cut out is made of styrofoam, especially when a real cake is placed on top. Some venders even sell the styrofoam already carved out. Best of luck.

Yes, I do believe you are correct Garden Baker. Would be hard to sustain the integrity of a cake with a hole cut into it.
