Birch Wood on buttercream?
How can I do this cake in buttercream? How do you get the brown lines/design in there? I’ve never done this kinda thing on buttercream before. Is it paint or do you smear it in while you’re icing the cake or something else?

It looks like it’s been partly smeared to show the brown cake crust underneath, but also painted with brown chocolate buttercream in places.

I got that exact photo from a bride :-) I will be making it in all buttercream as well.
