Cookies Pop-up

Hey all, I’m sorry I didn’t explain it to you already, but I thought you have had an experience with this on other sites already. I would like to explain you what are cookies, who use them, why use them and why there is such kind of pop-up displaying on CakesDecor.

What are cookies? Definition
Cookies are usually small text files, given ID tags that are stored on your computer’s browser directory or program data subfolders. Cookies are created when you use your browser to visit a website that uses cookies to remember your registered login, preferences, and other customization functions.

Every website you are Signed Up to(CakesDecor, gmail, facebook, pinterest, instagram, twitter, eShops you are ordering tools from …etc. ), uses cookies to store your login information and account settings. Also, almost all websites(I would say 99%) that you don’t have to Sign Up to, use cookies to store some data as well, they are just not informing you about it. These information helps the web to remember some important information.

CakesDecor.com use cookies to store your login information and settings…If we don’t, your account’s won’t work at all! Once you click on “Got It”, it shouldn’t show anymore.

It is probably not important to inform visitors about this anywhere all over the world but in Europe Union. Europe Union released Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations the other day that order us to inform you that we are using cookies to store some data.

I get this pop-up every day on lot of websites, so I thought it is pretty common for all of you. But it seems it’s only here in Europe.

Thanks for taking the time to explain Michael.x

You are welcome, I should probably do it right away when we added the Pop-up ;)

I knew all that already but it’s greatly appreciated that you inform us all and educate those who don’t know, so thank you for taking the time to post this :) It can get a little annoying seeing those pop ups, for sure, but now atleast more people will understand what they’re for and what to do about it :)

Thank you Michal. I confess I did click the ‘got it’ button to stop it popping up any more and hoped I hadn’t damned myself to hell haha! You are quite right that it doesn’t pop up after that. :)

Michal, thanks so much for the clarification and detailed explanation on what cookies are all about. , I clicked the “got it” on my phone and had problems at all. All other devices I have are all fine too. Yes, cookies are everywhere.

You must never limit your challenges, instead you must challenge your limits
