3D Hummingbird mold

I have done a bit of searching online and have yet to be successful in finding a 3D hummingbird mold. Does anyone know of place to purchase one? I am in Canada so it would have to be a supplier that ships here.

What about a good tutorial for one or have you made one yourself and are willing to offer up any tips/advice? I haven’t really seen any tutorials online either.

A friend of mine loves hummingbirds and her birthday is coming up in June so I would like to make one for her cake. If all else fails I’ll print off some images and wing it. lol Lame attempt at a funny, I know…..

Thanks in advance for your help :-)

Thank you Whisperingmoonlight. Those are an option that would look nice on the side of the cake but ideally I want the hummer to be in flight over the cake.

I looked on-line but could not find any that was in 3D. If I happen to find a website that does offer a hummingbird molding in 3D I will pass it on to you ASAP. Good luck!

Thank you Goreti :-)

I am in Canada too. It’s not 3D but very cute. If you were closer I’d lend it to you :)

There are lots of great tutorials out there that might be your best bet if you don’t have time to wait for shipping.

Good Luck

Thanks Teri. I had my eye on that one thinking I might get it if I can’t find a 3D one. Very sweet of you to say you’d loan it to me if I was closer.

The cake is for June 1st so I have time to figure something out. I may try sculpting one free hand & order the mold as a back up. In my mind I want the hummer to be in flight over the cake but he may end up attached to the side of the cake in which case that mold will do the job.

I used the mold and attached a wire to the back and made him flying over some gum paste flowers. My Mom really wanted a hummingbird so it was for her. She was happy with it. You could hide the wire better than I did I’m sure :)
