Hello, my name is Tracy. I love making cakes and try to find recipes for homemade fondant, modeling chocolate, sugar lace and more. I really want to learn as much as I can and my dream is to open my own bakery.

Welcome. As a general rule there is a lot involved in running your own business than most people are aware of – if you undercharge for your work then you normally end up with too much work and eventually end up hating every minute you are creating a cake as you are not earning even minimum wage. Cake decorating tends to be famine or feast (loads of work in the summer months and only a fraction of that amount of work in the winter months). To my mind books/videos can only teach you so much – its well worth saving your money and attending classes (however you do need to do your research re the tutors and what the classes/course covers, as not all classes are good value for money).
