I would like to apply a slight sand texture to a beach cake. I don’t want brown sugar or graham crumbs, I have seen somewhere cakes which look like sand on the tiers. My thinking was that they dabbed Royal icing on the tier to create this technique.
Any suggestions/photos would be appreciated.
Although I have never tried this, I have heard that it makes realistic looking sand. It is the Sugar Rock Recipe at the bottom of the page: http://www.earlenescakes.com/icings.htm
Thank you Goreti, but I think the texture will still be to course and thick. I saw a sand castle cake and they said they airbrushed with white choc. I didn’t know you could do that and I would be afraid to mess up my machine. I would like to know how it’s done.
