Cake Decorating Business

Extending and expanding!

Hi,
I want to get my cakes out there but I don’t want to set up a shop/store. Which methods have worked for all you amazing bakers and decorators?
Word has spread. Friends of friends contact me now so things are progressing, slowly. I have a Facebook page and tumblr which I need desperately to update. My cakes have improved and I’ll update my profile on this site.
I want to make cakes and decorating to become a growing business.
Thanks,
Sam

I’d definitely set up a small website for your business if you’re trying to spread the word and get more visibility.

You could go the Wordpress route and do it all yourself for cheap if you’re a bit proficient in that type of thing, or you could have a custom site set up for a reasonable amount by a freelancer.

After you have your site set up, you can spread the link around, put it on a business card so anyone interested can go to it and view your cake ‘portfolio’ so to speak, etc.

If you’re interested but need some help from someone who does websites freelance, feel free to message me.

If you’re looking for a website, business cards, and logo desgin on a budget I would recommend checking out www.fiverr.com. There are some very talented folks there and the prices are phenomenal!

Also, check out my blog at www.bakerybutler.com/blog to get some tips on boosting your traffic and getting local search engine traffic.

Hope this helps. Good luck!
