I’m making a spiderman theme and the costumer wants a figure on top.. my question is, can I use craft wire to form the body since the figure has a unique pose? I was thinking on using modeling chocolate.. need help pls.. Thanks
Hiya, yes you can use floral wire or dowels to help either support and modelling chocolate would be good, or fondant is fine too x

Do u know of a tutorial that teaches how to mold a male body with mc since the beginning? Is it safe to use wire?
Thanks a lot. You r the only one that replay back traying to help. I appreciate ur time.. :)
I have also used dry spaghetti for modelling which works well. Wire is ok as long as you tell the customer it is not edible, and tape the wire well where it goes into the cake, preferably into posy picks to be extra safe. Have you checked out YouTube for male body tutorials? X

Try this link to a Pinterest page which has loads of gum paste body tutorials on it which may help.

Hi Liliana! I made a lying down spiderman figure awhile ago and used toothpicks to insert the arms, legs and head. Worked well!

Thanks a lot :)
Liliana, depending on your pose, if you use gumpaste or modelling paste or chocolate it and you leave enough drying time you can make it without wire, spaghetti or toothpicks. I did these spiders legs with anything and used edible glue to keep in place. Modelling chocolate is a great medium for models as you can smooth it out too very easily and colour it, and you are more than welcome x

Thanks for your help again.. what did u use to get that nice shiny silver in the spiderwebs? Is it pearl dust?
I first painted the web on in black and then used the pearlescent white click and twist pen and put some of it into a paint palette and painted ontop of the black with a thin brush and the pearlescent white showed up silver on top of the black xx
