Mixed feelings
Did it ever happen to you when you’re starting with a cake and suddenly your hear the death of a close person? What do you do in this difficult time? I was so saddened to hear the loss of a great person, a family member, that died in a plane accident :( This happened while I was just about to bake the last cake i’ve posted. You’re suddenly shocked, upset, angry… you don’t even know if you even start with the cake itself!! What shall you do? should you inform your client 1 day ahead? I was so so tired, angry confused… But then I thought, no! Go on! Finish the cake!
It’s so sad when you hear about such a death( plane crash), specially when you know that this person was the most humble, nicest person you could ever meet :(

I am so sorry to hear of your loss Nadine. This did happen to me. My Cousins daughter, Laura, a beautiful, vibrant girl, only 30, committed suicide totally out of the blue. I was just about to start on my New York cake when I heard the shocking news. I was actually glad to have something to concentrate on. What was rather poignant was that the name I had to put on the cake was Laura.

Oh! so sorry to hear of your loss Julia!! What a tragedy! OMG! It must have been terrible for her parents!! Thanks for your support, you’re right I had something to concentrate on, this is exactly what happened to me. I still have another cake for next week , I was about to cancel it, but my husband encouraged me to do it, it will keep me busy a bit, and away from thinking. Thanks again and may Laura rest in peace.

Thank you Nadine. Even though there is sadness in our hearts it is still good to be able to bring a tiny bit of happiness into someones world with our cakes. Your husband is a wise man :-) x
