Draping sari
I would really appreciate any advice on how it would be best to assemble a cake like this. Can I stack the cake tiers at the venue, and attach the draped sari? If I make the sari drape with fondant, will it dry while traveling to the venue, and be difficult to attach? What would be the best way to attach it to the cake tiers?

If you had to assemble the cake on site I would make the sari ahead of time on cake dummies. This way it can try in the shape you need. The only concern is that your dummies may not be the same height as your cakes comes coated.
I personally would assemble the cake at home and attach the sari at home as well. I use stress free cake supports so I don’t really worry about the tiers falling down. Hope this helps
If your cake is well doweled and supported, no worries. Then add your draped Sari attaching with royal icing. Once that icing is dry, your Sari will stay put, it won’t move.

I would ensure the tiers are all well dowelled and you’d need to do the sari at home due to the artwork on it. you should have no trouble transporting it if you secure with royal icing at least 8 hours before transporting to allow the royal icing to harden properly

Oh wow…I never got notifications of replies..thank you all so much! Really appreciate the help! So it seems like stacking would have to be done before delivery. I am thinking doing 2-3 dowels all through the center of the cake so it is super stable. Hopefully it will work out good! Thanks much!!
