Introduce Yourself

Introduce Yourself x

Hi everyone.
I’m Karen and I split my time between working for a T.V shopping Channel part time, running a bake from home business and taking care of my Mum who lives with me and has Alzheimer’s. So that keeps me out of trouble (well most of the time!!).
I love this site, it’s so warm and friendly, and to be honest there’s been times when it’s helped me to keep it together!!.
When things get tough a “cake fix” and a natter with you lovely ladies and gentlemen gets me through the day (or night).
It’s like having the best pen friends in the world…….all over the world!!
I’d like to start *Cakes Anonymous *for those times when we are between cakes and itching to get back into the kitchen.
I hate it when I’ve not got a cake to make!!
Looking forward to meeting more of you lovely cake heads out there xxx

Hi Karen! It sure sounds like you are one busy lady! I don’t know how you manage to squeeze cakes into your busy life!! Cake making is my therapy, so I guess it’s important to make time to do something you love!

Hi Karen
Nice to meet you!
It is so nice to now a little bit more about other cakedecor lovers!

Hi Emily and Toni. I should be about 6 stone……..but there’s always cake in the house!! Yes if it wasn’t for my cake therapy I wouldn’t smile so much as I do xx

Hi Daantje, thank you xx I can see from your cakes that your florists work gives you a good eye for detail and colour xx

Hi Karen. Nice to meet another cake maker who finds it great therapy. It is about the only thing that keeps me sane in my household and enables me to get some “me time” whilst making the cakes. I don’t know whether any of you have the same problem, but I sometimes feel I have to put a note on the door, saying “mum’s office” as if I am in the kitchen working, the rest of the family never seem to notice and ask things of me all the time. If I went to work however, I would be able to escape all of these interruptions and actually get something done.
Anyhow, glad to talk to someone who clearly enjoys making great cakes, and all I can say is keep in touch and keep making those masterpieces.

Hi Mandy, thank you for your lovely kind works. Yes I know what you mean. I have an area I work from but it’s still in the house and my family know when I’m “caking” but still keep interrupting me. I don’t have that problem when I’m at my Technologist job!! I’ll definitely keep in touch and look forward to seeing more of your amazing cakes xx

Nice to know a little about you Karen!! Caking is an escape for me too – from my crazy kids mostly, lol – I have a second kitchen in my home dedicated to caking, which I like to escape to whenever the hubby is home to keep order… sometimes just to rearrange things and pretend I’m busy, lol
