peppermint / mint flavour ideas

Hi,
I’ve just joined this and still learning how the whole thing works..
I am planning to make a peppermint flavoured cake, unfortunately I cannot find a peppermint extract without alcohol – I want one with no alcohol.
I was wondering if anyone would be able to give me ideas to get the flavour I want from a mint source other than and extract.. ie: peppermint candy, fresh mint. Etc..
I want someone’s expertise to advice use I could incorporate this into a cake to name it taste pepperminty…
Any advice would be much appreciated..
Thanks a lot if advance..

I don’t know where you live Cakeylicious as it’s not stated on your profile. I’m in Canada and I use LorAnn oils. No alcohol. Very concentrated, so you don’t need much. I can purchase mine at a local store, but you can buy these oil flavours many places online.

Hi, thanks so much for your reply. I live in England :)
I came across oils but didn’t buy as I wasn’t sure if I could use them for cakes..darn it!
I was in a massive hunt for this extract and thankfully I found one.. I was so relieved and I made the cake..3 layers – chocolate, mint and vanilla sandwiched with chocolate mousse and topped with ganache..
Thanks again for your reply.. Atleast now I know I can get oils if I don’t get the extract :)
