Guess what? Jerry the Minion has decided he doesn’t only wanna be portrayed as sitting down or standing up as a cake but doing something entirely different! He’s really up to the challenge of being a “B-boy” and showing off his breaking moves especially the “Headspin”. He’s all geared up to do it too… with his protective gear that includes safety goggles, safety boots with double stitched, thick rubber soles and safety gloves. He’s also gelled up his spiky hair for the cool look! But he didn’t count on becoming dizzy, judging from his wonky eyes and he’s holding his head to prevent himself from getting a headache! LOL!

Made this 3D sculpted Minion cake for my son Ethan’s 12th birthday to be shared with his classmates and teachers at The Learning Connection, a school for children with learning disabilities. I intentionally left the cake board plain and put a ball bearing turntable under the cake so that Jerry appears to be spinning on his head!

I seldom make 3D sculpted cakes, preferring to stick to cakes with 3D sugar figures but decided to take up the challenge after seeing an awesome stacked 3D sculpted Minions cake made by the awesome Sarah Clark of the Cake Tin! Special thanks to Sarah for her advice and also for encouraging me to continue with it after the cake broke when I ambitiously tried to flip it over to ice the bottom part.
