Married to a Scotsman and having a daughter who is mad about the TV Outlander series, I had no choice but to make her an Outlander book birthday cake – she absolutely loved it and I have to admit – I too am an avid fan of Outlander. They are coming to South Africa to shoot part of Series 3 and guess what – it’s just down the road from where I live!

In case you are wondering about the Sgian Dubhs (Skean Dhu) (the knife the Scots wear in their sock) – this belongs to my husband and he’s had it since he was a little boy and thought it appropriate to add it on the cake as part of the decoration :-)
