This simple little creation was made for a lady’s 90th birthday party. The bottom tier is White Chocolate Mud Cake and the teapot is fruit cake. Everything hand crafted. This was originally going to be a full gum paste tea set, but the dramatics that went on in my life last week ruled that out, so at the eleventh hour, I changed the design and opted for a cake pot which actually is infinitely quicker and easier to do than sugar modelled (took less than 24 hours from start to finish so don’t look too closely!).

According to Hilda’s daughter, the birthday girl was absolutely thrilled which is the most important part of all. The rose is cold porcelain. This is the third request for a cake for this lovely lady and I felt so honoured.

I have a teapot that looks almost identical…right down to the flowers and lines on the design…and the painted flowers..so pretty…just lovely..
