Oh my it’s been SO long since I’ve posted a cake and I’ve been out of it since Christmas with the holidays, kids and projects. Sorry I’ve been so sporadic on CD. It’s been so hectic that I didn’t even realize I never posted this one here when the magazine released.

I was invited by Rebekah of Rebekah Naomi Cake Design to contribute to American Cake Decorating Magazine’s January Trends Issue. We each chose a trend to add a bit of our own twist to and I chose SHABBY CHIC. I wanted to show that a classic design with dressed up vintage influences can be given a modern vibe. I used the traditional pastel colour palettes associated with shabby chic on this cake but paired them with modern lines, shapes and techniques.
