I have a folder on my computer labelled ‘cake inspiration’ and it’s full of literally hundreds of pics of things that I’ll probably never get the chance to turn into sugar, BUT sometimes an opportunity happens along to use one of them (second pic), and I jump at it!
This piece was made up of hundreds of individually wired blossoms and some larger blooms which I made on and off over the course of about a week, and then spent half a day wiring the whole lot together into the heart shape.
As usual it took me longer than anticipated to create all the pieces, but the wiring together I found to be surprisingly easy, and it was actually securely fixing it to its cake a week later that I found the most difficult part of the whole process!
