Congratulations to Karina and Dave, who were recently married at Emu Bottom Homestead. They wanted a a rustic style cake with flourishes of native sugar flowers and pink proteas. The touches of watermelon were to match the bridesmaid dresses. All tiers were finished with a textured roller and some gorgeous hessian/burlap lace which Karina supplied.
I happened to run into Dave the groom, when delivering the cake, and he looked fabulous in his crisp white shirt, moleskins and Akubra hat! Looking forward to seeing photos of Karina’s dress.
The cake consisted of a White Chocolate Mud with layers of lemon and raspberry buttercream, a Marble Mud with Malteaser Crush buttercream, and a Chocolate Mud with Vanilla and Mixed Berry buttercream.
Matching gluten, dairy and nut free cupcakes were also made to accompany the wedding cake.

I must get to Australia one day, if only to see places such as Emu’s bottom! What a lovely description of the event and the cake seems to complement it perfectly.
