I made this cake for two men in my church that are being honored for keeping the church going while we were waiting for our new pastor. One of them is my husband who became interim pastor until the new pastor arrived last month.
The lighthouse symbolizes the light they kept on through preaching and teaching the word of God.
The round cake is a 14 inch yellow cake; the island the lighthouse is on is chocolate cake and both are frosted in butter cream.The lighthouse is pound cake. Used two mini tube cakes, two 3 1/2 inch round molds and one 3 inch mold. Covered in fondant.The light is in a glass votive candle holder with a battery operated votive candle. Had lots of fun making this lighthouse.
