I was given ‘swimming’ as the theme of this cake, but wanted to make it a bit prettier and interesting than a swimming pool as sports cakes throw me a little bit! I created tiles for the cake board to replicate the floor of a swimming pool, a ruffled ombre bottom tier for waves and a 2d image of a girl swimming underwater for the top tier. I took inspiration from the red & white floats that separate the swimming lanes to create the number 10 and add around each tier.
