Wafer paper flowers

Hi all, I have seen a surge online about wafer paper flowers. I am not sure if customers really request wafer paper flowers for their weddings or celebration cakes in place of sugar flowers? I have a good amount of specialty bakeries around me and none have that type of medium for their flowers. I have yet to see any in any wedding I have attended to. Is wafer paper a real thing for wedding cakes? thank you
