How to fix a very heavy topper to the SIDE of a cake

Hi everyone, I am making a “fishing” cake and have a 25 cm modelling chocolate trout that I need to put on the side of the cake without it ripping out (as if the fish was being pulled out the water). The fish needs to be as realistic as possible and the full fish has to be showing, so I have a “T” shaped wire in the middle of the fish going in between the lower fins, and need to have the entire fish showing – any suggestions?
