How do you get started in selling cakes? Is it word of mouth? How do you get people coming to you and wanting you to make them cakes? I live in a small town if that helps any. Thanks!

Hi Kitty91, I also live in a “smallish” town. All of my business has been by word-of-mouth. I never really advertised. When I first started many years ago (40 odd years ago) I gave away a lot at Holiday time, to friends, the bank I deal with, entered craft fairs. As my business grew I gave out business cards to out local bridal shop and catering business that did not do there own cakes. But first check to see if you can sell cakes where you live, some places have restrictions/health rules etc. Just make a good product and they will come. Hope this helps. Good luck

"Getting started" can refer to initiating an activity, project, or process. Whether you're "siting" or "sitting" depends on the context. "Siting" typically refers to the act of determining the location or placement of something, such as a building, monument, or infrastructure project. For example, if you're getting started on a construction project, you might be "siting" the building by selecting the best location for it. On the other hand, "sitting" usually refers to being in a seated position. So, if you're getting started on a meditation practice, you might be "sitting" down in a comfortable position to begin. Both actions  siting or sitting  involve starting something new, but the specific verb used depends on the nature of the activity.
