Tennis racquet topper

Hi, does anyone know how to make the tiny tennis rackets (or where to buy (order) them ready made (in Europe) ?

A good friend of mine asked my to make these for her son, who’s crazy about tennis.

As I’m relatively new amateur in the cake business, it’s almost impossible to figure it out. I suppose I could make a racquet frame from fondant with tylose, but how to make the net part?
Any advice will be highly appreciated!

Hi Kassie! I think these should be quite easy to make. It looks like they have cut out an oval shape and then cut a smaller oval shape out of the centre of that one to make the frame, then they have replaced the string part with the same size oval shape in white. You could use a dresdon tool or pallet knife to simply mark lines on the white to look like stings, a smocking rolling pin would be good also if you have one. You could dust with a little pearl lustre dust on the string part to highlight them!
Another idea for the strings which I think would look really good is using sugar lace! Claire bowman has a net mat which I think would be perfect! Here is the link http://www.thecakedecoratingcompany.co.uk/fishnet-3d-large-cake-lace-mat I hope this helps you little!! :-) x
Sorry I can’t seem to get that link to work! Just go to Cake Decoration Company and key in fishnet mat Claire Bowman :-)

Dear, Eli, thank you for your advise. Yes, I guess I’ll try sugar lace for the net indeed. Even got some molds already 😊 can’t wait for a day off to try it out.

And I guess I found a racquet frame too just in the nearest supermarket.
