Hi all,
I am new to this forum and wondering if you lovely lot could help me :) I’ve been asked to make a version of the cake below but I can’t work out what the little icing beads are made from / how they are made? I’ve had a look around and can’t find anything similar. My only guess is that they have been piped with a tiny nozzle but I’m not sure.
If anyone has any ideas or help that would be great :)
Thank you! Steph
Hey Steph,
you forgot to add a picture ;)

I know!! Lol
Those are just piped on dots in various colours. Coloured buttercream. That is a lot of dots and a lot of different colours. Probably piped with with a #2 -or #3 tip.

That was my guess. Thanks for getting back to me though :) I think I’ll just use sugar beads!
Wow, now that’s a cake!

I don’t know if they have them where you live but candy Sixlets come in many colors and they taste good too. A lot faster than piping all of those dots with icing.

i read an article while ago, they make it from colored fondant or royal icing and after it dries hard the put it in zip-log bag with pearl dust and shake it to get the shiny effect, i hope this will help :)
