Treasure Chest cake ...help!

Hello Everyone!

I’m making a treasure chest cake for this weekend and I am terrified about the lid.

I looked online and saw that some people made the top out of styrofoam, but how would I shape the Styrofoam. Do I use different shapes and put them together? And how do I get the lid to open up a little? I want to add chocolate coins to the inside

I have made one using RKT for the lid then securing it open with small wooden dowels if that helps 😊

I dont know how big you are thinking of having the lid but would you be able to use moulded rice crispy treats and then cover them with fondant. You can get the shape you want without it being to heavy and it will be edible. You could use a fondant covered long dowel each side to hold it up.
I always try my best not to have anything that isn’t edible on my cakes :) Good luck with it xx
