Cake Disasters

Wonky cake

Hi
Lately a few tired cakes have been wonky, I’ve not had this trouble in the past and I usual use a spirt level through out the process.
Can anyone tell me A. Why it might be happening and B. Can you fix it once the cakes are stacked ?
Thanks in advanced.

Hi Jen, I looked at your tiered cakes, and they sure don’t look wonky to me. They look perfectly level. If you have a wonky cake, maybe not enough supports being placed in the bottom tier?

Hey Jen. I would have to agree with Toni. An unintentional wonky cake to me would mean the support system. I use stress free supports in my cakes. They are awesome and the cake does not move.

I know this may sound silly but please make sure the table/surface you are putting the cake on when leveling it is also level. The one and only “wonky” cake I had was due to putting it on an un-level surface. I was able to put some Styrofoam wedges under cake to level it (instead of disassembling it and re-doing it) but it was not a perfect solution. I agree with the two above answers though… the more supports the better.
